For about 6 years, I've been swimming with the Swim Kauai Aquatics team (SKA) in Kauai, HI. I am passionate about swimming because it gives me a sense of purpose and has taught me great discipline throughout the years. With hard-earned discipline, I believe I have what it takes to continue my swimming career in college.
In academics, I've taken an honors English class, earned a high honor roll on my report cards, enrolled in two AP classes, and participated in the Model United Nations Club (MUN). Additionally, I do my best to contribute to my community in Hawaii. For example, I've helped rebuild the historic Alekoko fish pond rock wall, participated in beach clean-ups, and gotten rid of invasive plants on the land. Furthermore, I maintained a part-time job in customer service for about two years. As of right now, I'm a lifeguard at the YMCA of Kauai facility, training to be a Junior Coach for the Bronze swim team, and teach swim lessons for the keiki (kids) in my community.
In my free time, I skateboard, surf, write, and practice a bit of the guitar.
In the future, I hope to contribute more, not just at home but in college as well.
