I started swimming when I was six years old was always the loudest on my team. At meets I would cheer so loudly people could hear me anywhere on the pool deck. People started mocking my loud and obnoxious voice and instead of dreading the five hour meets, my teammates were looking forward to them. Now, I spend my time at meets loudly cheering behind lanes. Sometimes I barely have enough air in my lungs for my own races, yet I cheer because it’s nice to help people forget that they're spending their entire weekend at the pool.
