Winning the 100-yard freestyle at the IHSA Rock Island Sectional swim meet and earning a spot at the IHSA State swim meet is the highlight of my high school career.  As a junior, I didn't think I could make it to State, but working hard all season paid off at the Sectional swim meet.  State was an incredible experience that helped me grow as a person and as a swimmer and helped me realize that hard work really does pay off.

I've always been in the water, but I didn't start swimming competitively until I was 9 years old.  Being homeschooled has its perks, but when I got to high school I had to make a big decision.  To swim for the high school team, I had to start taking classes part-time at my local high school.  It was one of the best decisions I've ever made.  Getting to be apart of my team has been a true blessing.  I have learned the value of teamwork, dedication, and humility through swimming.  I trust that being on a college team will give me a new experience that can help me grow not only as a swimmer but also as a person.  I believe that I have the integrity, work-ethic, and leadership abilities to be on your team!
