Hi, my name is Brooke Bonitzer! I am currently 15 and in my freshman year of high school. I started swimming at 7 to become a confident swimmer, but little did I know that it would become one of my greatest passions. Being from a small town, my opportunities to pursue swim have come with challenges. I don't have a high school swim team. My only option is a club team in a different town that practices 45 minutes from my house. This is just one example of a hardship I've faced as a swimmer. Each hardship has taught me things and strengthened me as a person and a swimmer. I'm so thankful for all the opportunities I've already been given. Being able to swim in college while also pursuing a strong education has been a dream of mine for a long time. One quality that would make me both a perfect athlete and student at college is my determination to always improve myself. With swimming, I never take practice for granted. I try to make every minute count so that during meets I will perform to the best of my ability. This trait of mine is also very prominent in the classroom. While I am still in my early years at high school, I have taken initiative by taking advanced/AP classes. These classes have made me work hard and just like my hard work in swimming have proven that hard work pays off. I would say I am a great student, swimmer, and all-around person and would make a great asset on any school's campus.
