ABIGAIL BARKHURST '24 Recruiting Profile

My passion for swimming has been going strong since I joined the Mundelein Mustangs Swim Club at 8 years old. My high school doesn’t have a pool or swim team so MMSC has nurtured my love of swimming and is helping me to obtain my goal to compete at the collegiate level! 

My work ethic both in the pool and at school is second to none! I am hardworking, dedicated, and have a positive mindset. In selecting a college, my priorities are to find a swim program that will continue to develop my skills while offering a fun and competitive swim environment, an academic program that will prepare me to become an elementary school teacher, and last, but not least, a college that will be able to provide me with meals that will be safe. At age 13, I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease. My gluten free diet has become an integral part of staying healthy, active, and ready to become an integral part of the right college!
