Lydia Johnston '21 Recruiting Profile

Swimming has brought to my life limitless passion and aspiration for greatness since I was 3 years old. The sport has fueled, not only my determination in the water, but instilled in me a work-ethic which has resulted in success in the classroom. I am always eager to learn more from my teachers, but also from my coaches. I want to join a program which allows me to continue to improve my technique, get faster, and be the most competitive I can be. 

The best moments of my swimming career are always the ones with my teammates. Like many others, the thrill of competition and victory in a closely-matched dual meet have ensured that I will never get bored or tired of the sport. 

Academically, I am eager to go to a rigorous school where I can learn from people with diverse backgrounds. My goal within this next year to prepare for college, academically, is to find classes that could prepare me to go into a pre-medicine major. Athletically, I hope to win the conference meet against my high school rival and break my school's 500 yard freestyle record. I am so excited for what's to come in my college career!
