Growing up in small town Marysville Kansas gave me the opportunity to really make a name for myself and stand out within the small community. I have grown up to be a 4 sport athlete being involved in basketball, volleyball, track and swimming so I have always kept myself busy with academics and athletics. Academics has always been a top priority for me. I always give my 100% in the classroom as well as in the sports i’m involved in and I have gotten recognized for it. All of my achievements have come from being an academic scholar and of course those athletic accomplishments. I got recognized as the first female student athlete to complete zero hour (an optional weights class) here in the history of MHS. A lot of pride comes with this recognition and being involved in all of these sports. Not only is it an individual effort but as well as a team effort. My family came to the U.S. when I was born so I knew being involved with extra curricular activities, sports, and working hard at school would be the best way to make a name of myself. My love and passion for swimming started at the age of 6 when I started competing competitively. Since then, my love for the sport has only grown stronger. I am looking for a college that offers a feeling of home away from home. I’m looking for a strong built relationship with my coach and a place where I can not only continue my swimming career but improve and grow my knowledge and passion for the sport as well.
