I have been swimming since I was five. I am inherently competitive, and just feel better mentally and physically when I am in the water. I tried out for and was selected as a member of the Naval Academy Aquatics Club when I was 6. I spent 8 years at the Naval Academy Aquatic Club before transferring to Annapolis Swim Club. I have competed at the MD State Championship Meet since age 13, and last SCY season I qualified for Speedo Champions Series Eastern Region Sectional Meet. My favorite strokes are backstroke and butterfly. I'm looking for a university-type school that provides a balance between rigorous academics and Division III athletics as I have been managing my time between swimming and school my whole life, and I enjoy the sense of routine. I'd like to attend a school where I can minor in an area of art as I enjoy studio art and art history as hobbies. I am also interested in schools on both the East and West coasts. I hope to go as far with swimming as I possibly can, and to make a lasting impact on the team I swim for. Swimming has always been a huge part of my life and it makes me happy just to be in the water. As a freshman I was Rookie of the Year for my high school team. At practice I work very hard and set an example for younger swimmers. Some of my goals at this point are to qualify for both Sectionals this year and Short Course Junior Nationals in the coming months. I very much enjoy the team aspects of swimming as well as working towards my individual goals. As of now, I look to become a Nurse Practitioner, and I hope to attend a school with strong math and science programs.
