Hello Coaches/Recruiters,
I am Sydney Usher, a 16 year old Junior at South River High school in Edgewater, Maryland. I have been a Girl Scout since I was in First grade and have earned my Silver Award. I am currently working on earning my Gold Award. I have been swimming for 12 years now, my love for the sport began at my local pool Crofton Swim and Tennis club home of the Crofton Cats. For the past 4 summers I have been a junior coach, helping with the younger swimmers technique and making sure all of our little cats are paying attention. I am a certified lifeguard, I also give private swim lessons in my free time during the summer. Until 9th grade I swam at the Naval Academy Aquatic Club, I finished my time there my summer going into 10th grade in the Jr. group. I am currently with Retriever Aquatic Club/UMBC in the Senior Gold group where I plan to spend my next 2 years til college. I absolutely love swimming, I currently practice 6 days a week, my practices consist of 2 hours of swimming followed by anywhere from 30-45 minutes of dry land. I am very outgoing, enthusiastic, and optimistic, I enjoy being part of a close team where I am swimming with an extended family. This year I have a 3.8 gpa and I am in all honors classes with the exception of 4 Ap classes. I have made honor roll every semester of my high school career. In college I plan on studying to become an occupational therapist, a physical therapist, Veterinarian, or Physician Assistant.
