I am always working on improving myself both in the pool, and in the classroom. I am someone who takes pride in all that I do, and I am always wanting to do better. My goal is to continue dropping time, and to continue improving my grades. I participate in multiple extracurricular activities, and I like to take leadership. I was a volunteer for my church's children's ministry, and I had to lead the children through activities during the church services. I was also a volunteer for an organization called the Junior Jaycees. This organization was a group of students who volunteered throughout the community. This included volunteering in the nursing home, Toys 4 Tots, Health Fairs, and multiple other community events. I now volunteer for charity designer purse bingos, and I work the bingos to make money for charities like March of Dimes, Humane Society of Charles County, and the Southern Maryland Food Bank. I have earned a couple awards for my leadership such as The Coach's Award during my junior season after taking the position of team captain, and the Citizen Life Safety Award after helping assist my fellow lifeguards to save a life.
I have been swimming for six years now, and it has become a major part of my life. I love being in the water, and I love to challenge myself. I am always trying to drop time and I am always working on improving my technique. I want to be the best I can be so I am always working on becoming better. My goal as I continue forward with my swimming career is to, of course, drop time in all areas, but especially to drop my 100 Free time to a 1:02 or better, and to drop my 200 IM time. I am dedicated to the sport, and I am determined to do the best I can. I love putting myself up to the challenge, and I am excited to take my swimming career to the collegiate level.
