I began swimming competitively at the age of six, dropping soccer to have more time in the pool, a place that has never failed to make me smile. I found my love for the sport at a young age and ever since I became exposed to the hard work, fun, and thrill of practices and swim meets, I have dedicated myself to it. Likewise, I have always pushed myself in school to learn as much as I can and perform to the best of my ability. As a Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior, I achieved high honors in all subjects. Not only have I always wanted to go to college for the academics, but it has been a dream of mine since I was six to swim in college as well. I have found that I am motivated to show up and work hard at school and swim practices because I enjoy them both. I have learned that roadblocks are inevitable, but time, effort, and patience can help overcome any obstacle in life. I was named co-captain of my club team as a sophomore in fall 2021, and have been chosen as co-captain of my high school team starting my junior year. Although the sport is individual, the team aspect has always been my favorite part. Even though we are competitors, I love cheering on my teammates because those relationships have always meant the most to me. The aforementioned supportive environment is what first drew me to my first competition team and I hope to provide a similar atmosphere to inspire younger swimmers to keep swimming.
