Personal Statement

Swimming has given me a lot more than I could ever repay it for. Before I started swimming at the age of 9; I had been a quiet, anxious young girl looking to really find a passion for something. I’ve played other sports, sure, but swimming is the one I chose above all. I saw a clear path for setting and achieving my goals that I could reach with hard work and diligent practice. With this revelation, I dove in and I’ve never looked back. Swimming has also given me so much more. Including some of my best friends, confidence, and mental fortitude. By swimming in college, I hope to continue on this path of challenging myself consistently, improving, believing in my abilities, making a positive lasting impact on the teams/communities I come in contact with, and paying forward to others what swimming has given me.
