Swimming in college has been my dream for a very long time. My dreams were nearly crushed in 2018 because of a knee injury, I ended up having three surgeries within that year. It was a struggle to get my body back in shape and my mind back in the game. I worked really hard to regain the strength that I had lost. The surgeries made me realize what I want to do as a career, I want to become an orthopedic surgeon. I always knew that I wanted to be in the medical field but I could never narrow it down to a specific field. I love learning about the body and how it works. Although my injury kept me out of swim for a while it helped me figure out what I want to do in my future. I want to be able to help others with injuries regain their strength and passion towards something they love, much like my doctors did for me.
