Swimming has been an important and influential part of my life so far, and because of this I would love to continue my career in college. As a collegiate athlete I want to not only get faster in the water but I would also like to be a part of a cohesive swim team.
Swimming in high school and on a club team has allowed me to become a leader. The leadership skills I have learned have been used to help teach younger kids to swim and my role in the Peer Assisted Learning program at my school. Additionally, I have learned the importance of being a good teammate. I believe that the most important aspect of being a good teammate includes offering support to my fellow athletes even when my own performance are not meeting my expectations. I love to swim and am definitely willing to work at it to become better for me and for my team. Other then swimming 6 days a week I also go to Plainwell High School and maintain a challenging class schedule. Doing both swimming and school has taught me great time management skills and I am able to go to practice every day and maintain a gpa of 3.8. Because of this I think I am going to adjust smoothly to the rigorous schedule that comes with being a student athlete in college.
I am excited to start communicating with teams who think I will be the right fit!
