Throughout my maturation from youth to young adult, my mentors have guided me through the exploration of discovering my natural-born gifts. Being an involved and driven person, I have been blessed with the ability to commit myself to both academics and athletics. I have experienced challenges, and have learned to persevere through difficult situations. During my freshman year of high school, I discovered my love for competing in triathlons. Alongside triathlons, I have participated in swimming and track since middle school. Competing in athletics has shown me what it means to have patience and determination, further allowing me to serve as the swim team captain for two years in a row. Though I was given the ability to be an optimistic leader, athlete, and teammate, I have always applied my diligence as a student.
Achievement through academics is of great importance to me. Throughout high school, I have been able to find balance between extracurriculars and school. Through focus and assiduousness, I have withheld a high GPA and later earned membership in the National Honor Society. Being a member of the National Honor Society has inspired me to participate in more community service, and to help others on my own time. By exposing myself to hard work, I will be able to apply these skills to the next chapter of my life. While I am interested in studying health services and art, I am keen to continue my athletics at a college level. Since I have competed in athletics for most of my life, it has become a part of who I am.
