I have been swimming since I was seven years old and up to this point my experience has been filled with countless opportunities to grow in and outside the pool. I joined high school swimming as a freshmen and right away I was able to demonstrate my value to the team through my swimming abilities. As a sophomore I solidified my role on the team by being a leader and qualifying for state for the second time. This is why I believe swimming in college is in my future and an important goal of mine. I have also had to work through the adversity of multiple coaching changes in my club swimming, resulting in the need to navigate different coaching styles and expectations. It forced me to focus my attention on making the most of my training.
My strong work ethic coupled with my swimming skills has led to coaches inviting me to join an elite level of swimmers. As a result, I have been able to apply my skills to their maximum potential resulting in swims that truly demonstrate my abilities to compete at the college level. My goal is to join a team that values my leadership abilities both in and outside the pool. I know my experiences provide me with a strong foundation to compete at the collegiate level. I have the commitment, character and leadership skills that would be seen as an asset, and I am confident I would not disappoint you as a positive member of the team.
