Personal Statement

Firstly, I love Jesus, and live everyday working toward honoring him.

My goal is to attend college with an academic and/or swimming scholarship. Academically, I want to make the Dean’s List and graduate with honors. Athletically, I will strive to make my team more competitive and successful. My personal goal would be to set the school records in the Breaststroke. I am a hard worker and when I have my eyes set on something, I don't give up; I give 110% until the job is done.

I am different from other recruits because I am a good leader (with a leadership class under my belt and many leadership roles at my school) and I am able to help others when it comes to reaching their goals. As a Junior in high school, I strive for excellence in my schoolwork, and I try to hold straight A's.  Early on in school, I struggled in math.  Through tutoring before school starts in the morning, and working on math over my summers I’ve continued to improve.

I take the same attitude when it comes to swimming. My first goal in swimming was to make state times. I made a state time in the spring of 2020 in the 400 I.M. but the meet was canceled because of Covid. Instead of being discouraged, I continued striving to improve and made state times for the 100 and 200 breaststroke in 2024. My goal is to make national times by the time I am done with high school.

Awards and Activities

  • AwardsI applied for a statewide speech competition and was accepted. I competed with other high-school girls and was one of only two Freshmen to compete. After competing in the speech competition a reporter from a local newspaper contacted me asking for an interview. It was later featured in the paper. In my school, we have a set of "values" called the body of values. (BOV) In the first semester of my Freshman year, I was one of 2 people that was awarded the "BOV-MVP." This means that I was awarded the most BOV slips in my whole high school. During elementary and middle school I competed in multiple speech competitions. Throughout all 8 years, I placed top 3 in my class, winning 4 first-place awards. I am the President of my school's student government. I am the Vice-Prefect of one of my school's 4 "houses." I applied for a prestigious $5,000 scholarship and was one of two people that was awarded the scholarship.
  • ActivitiesI teach swimming lessons to kids through Swim America I partake in school musicals/dramas. During the summer I enjoy water skiing and wakeboarding on the weekends. I enjoy filming and editing videos for my small YouTube channel, which I send to family and friends. I enjoy attending specialty swim camps and attended the University of Minnesota Breaststroke camp in 1/2022
