Placing top three in-state my sophomore year has been the highlight of my high school career thus far. Even though that gave me a lot of confidence in the sport, something that helped me grow the most as a student-athlete was not getting the sectionals cut sophomore year. That experience helped me grow not only as a swimmer but as a person. It taught me to work through adversity and become a stronger swimmer so that I can swim at the college level.
Through all of my work, I was fortunate enough to get a sectionals time and compete in the 2019 Midwest summer sectionals. There, I became the top 8 in the 50 free in the Midwest. Through my swim career, I learned the value of hard work, commitment, and sacrifice, which are things that I would not have learned without going through adversity. Not only am I looking for a college team that will be a good fit for me athletically, but I am also looking for a college that will be a good fit for me academically as well. I believe that I have the work ethic, positivity, talent, and above all, leadership skills to make an impact on your program. As a varsity captain, I know that I have what it takes to be a leader on your team.
