Shannon Howarth '12 Recruiting Profile

Hey my name is Shannon Howarth! I've been a competitive swimmer for 12 years on the same swim team, the Egg Harbor Township Seahawks. I'm very loyal to my coaches and teammates and am able to grow a great bond with anyone I meet. I may seem shy at first but give me a little while, you will definitely wish I was as quite as the time when you first met me! I like to keep swim practices interesting and have a good time. I have a great attitude during meets and practices, whether me or the team as a whole are performing well or not. I was named Girls Team Captain last year due to my attitude towards myself, coaches, and teammates. I also recieved the Most Improved reward at my team banquet. This past year, I dropped a total of 3 seconds in 100 yard breaststroke leaving me with a time of 1:05.82 and a total of 4 seconds in 200 yard breaststroke with a new time at 2:22.71. I worked very hard to get to where I'm at now and am excited to continue the journey. I'm 5'6" and 130 pounds of energy and enthusiasm. I'm great with people which is one the many reasons why I would love to major in Elementary Education/Special Education. I am very attached to my hometown which is why I would like to stay in the Eastern part of the US but I'm willing to go outside that frame. I'm looking for an average size campus with everything within walking distance. I'm looking forward to seeing which schools best fit my interest!
