Ever since I was given a pair of floaty's in a kiddy-pool when I was 3 years old, my parents had a difficult time keeping me out of the water. Growing up, my passion for swimming brought me to several different teams, each with a more serious training intensity that shaped me to fit all of the characteristics, college swimming and academic criteria that you want on your swim team.
At the beginning of my freshman year, I tore my ACL playing soccer and I was unable to swim for the next 9 months. Since the accident I have been working to be stronger than I have ever been and I continue to grow the more I push myself. This past year alone I joined the Randolph YMCA team and have seen tremendous improvement with my times, and they only continue to drop. My high school coaches realized my dedication to the team and made me captain, only strengthening my leadership experiencing and making me a better overall contributor to both school and swimming. As a student athlete, I strive to swim at a high collegiate level while receiving a great education in school. I am competitive and want to keep getting faster with every opportunity that I have to race.
I truly believe that swimming is a key contributor to my academic success. I enjoy taking risks in order to experience new things and I like to challenge myself by taking advanced level classes and being actively involved with the school. Swimming helps me reflect on my studies and relieves stress so I am able to clear my mind. I value my education and I work hard to get the grades that I do to be as successful as I can be in the future.
