My name is Alicia Ying. I am from Marlboro Township, New Jersey and I attend Biotechnology High School in the Monmouth County Vocational School District (MCVSD). I have been competitively swimming since I was 7. I am on the Greater Monmouth swim team and have always loved being in the pool. It has taught me discipline and dedication both in and out of the water. It has helped me push myself and stay driven to my goals. Moreover, being a swimmer on the team has helped me view swimming both as an individual and team sport. I stay dedicated to my goals while cheering on my team mates during their races. I have a strong work ethic and I aim to extend my opportunities.
I am searching for a college that can provide me the education and athletic training that will continue to help me grow and become a better person. Academics play a very big role in my college decision and I want to be in an atmosphere where I can continue to challenge myself and go beyond my training. The sport has helped me give 110% in everything I do and be the best I can be. I am looking to commit to a school where I can continue to grow and fulfill my ambitions.
