I have known from an early age that I would like to compete and swim at the collegiate level. Even as a child, I knew I was passionate about racing and being part of a team. I have been swimming competitively since the age of six on a summer swim team, since the age of 12 on a year round club team, and for the last two years on my high school swim team. I absolutely love the sport and the opportunities it has given me.
I know that you only get out of a practice what you put into it, and therefore work my very hardest each and every day in the pool. I strive to continue dropping time as well as improving my technique, and enjoy pushing myself during practice and the feeling of accomplishment that follows a challenging workout. To me, team comradery holds a very high importance. I have built close relationships with my current teammates. I am always cheering them on as well as encouraging them to try their best and swim their fastest.
I work very hard in the classroom to maintain stellar grades while also balancing practice and meets. I am involved in clubs and volunteer work in and out of school and always seek ways to participate and help others. I hope to find a school that is both a good fit academically and athletically. My goal is to excel in both swimming and my studies.
