Abigail Michaelson '23 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coaches and Recruiters! My name is Abigail Michaelson and I am headed into my junior year at Middletown South High School in Middletown, NJ (Class of 2023).

I started swimming when I was 8 years old in the summer and it quickly become something that I enjoyed. I have been swimming competitively year round for the past 7 years with the YMCA of Greater Monmouth County (formerly Red Bank YMCA). I excel at sprint freestyle and butterfly events, qualifying the last 2 years for YMCA Nationals in the 50 freestyle. I swim for Middletown South and have earned my varsity letter in both my freshmen and sophomore seasons.

When I am not swimming, I put a huge emphasis on succeeding in the classroom and other activities. I am an honors and AP Student with a 4.0 GPA, and am also a 2-year varsity letter winner in Track & Field. To stay competitive and improve my fitness in our short offseason, I am also a certified Ocean Lifeguard at Sea Bright Ocean Rescue in Sea Bright, NJ. I like to stay busy and wouldn’t have it any other way.

Although undecided on my major as of yet, I am excited to find the right fit in a college, both academically & athletically. This fall, I am looking forward to taking on more of a leadership role on my high school teams as I transition to being a high school upperclassmen.
