Swimming has always had the biggest influence on my life. I can't remember a time that I did not have swimming in my life, and that is probably because I was five years old when I started. I went from barely being able to make it 25 yards to having received first place in the 50, 100, and 200 yard breast stroke events at the New Mexico Long Course State Championships. I set goals for myself very high and I won't stop until I reach them, and right now the biggest goal I have in mind is to further my swimming career on a college team. My coaches have always told me that I am a leader on my team and I know I could take that with me to a competitive college team. I hope to be involved in a driven and dedicated team where I can be pushed beyond my limits and at the end of the day call my team my family. Not only have I set high goals for myself in swimming but in my academics as well. I strive everyday in high school to understand and absorb the materials and objectives put in front of me. I am able to maintain a very high GPA because I have learned to equally balance my swimming and education. I think all of my drive and discipline will serve me well on a college team.
