Avyanna Rodriguez '21 Recruiting Profile

I am the second oldest of a military family. Both of my parents served in the military and have taught me how to adapt and overcome any and all obstacles that may arise. They have taught me to always do my best and be the best version of myself. Through my family and 10 years of swimming competitively l  have learned to work has a team, be a leader when the situation arises, and put in the work needed for my team as well as my success.

I have a few passions in my life: my family, swimming, and animals. All of these have played a huge role in my life. They have grounded me, gave me a sense of belonging, unconditional love, and acceptance. 

My goals in college are to obtain a degree in Zoology or Marine Biology, to be able to put my love of animals towards a career that is meaningful to me.

I want to continue swimming at a competitive level, to be part of a team that will challenge me, support me, and be part of  my extended family.
