Hello! My name is Hannah Velarde and I am 17 years old. I am currently a Senior at Lejeune High School. I started taking basic swim lessons at age 10, and then started competing at age of 14, God has truly blessed me with the ability to swim. I am currently on East Carolina Aquatics Gators (Moorehead/Carteret site). I am blessed with great coaches and trainers on this team. At every practice, I work to push my limit to achieve my goals. For me this includes making state championships and swimming at a collegiate level. I must also add that I am not where I want to be, but I believe that there is room for more improvement. Balancing both sports and school has been very challenging, but I have learned very good life lessons like: time management and how to make decisions and commitments. I am very excited at potentially being apart of a great team of both team members and coaches who will push me past my mental and physical barriers.
