Hi, I’m Gabrielle Evanson. I’ve been swimming competitively since I was 7 years old, and this sport is a huge part of my life. Swimming has taught me so much and has allowed me to grow not just as an athlete, but as a person. I’ve learned what hard work and dedication truly means through the ups and downs of my time as an athlete. The feeling of seeing my hard work in and out of the pool pay off in a race is so rewarding, and it’s what drives me to improve in every aspect of my sport. Whether it’s technique work, a hard set, or dryland, I always try to give 100%. I’m committed, coachable, and driven to improve. I want to continue to swim in college to not only improve my times, but to grow as a teammate and further my commitment to the sport that has taught me so much.
Throughout high school I have maintained over a 4.0 GPA, taken honors and AP classes, and stayed involved in the music program. I like to stay busy and I’m continuously finding ways to challenge myself. As a senior, I’m thinking about college more and more. I hope to major in political science, something I found a passion for when I was younger. While other kids were watching cartoons, I was watching the news. I love the idea of being able to work towards creating lasting change for others.
