Ava Vial '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Ava Vial, as I begin my Senior year of high school, I am also about to begin my 12th year of swimming with the Wolfville Tritons Swim Club, in Wolfville Nova Scotia.  I joined the club at the age of 6, and started competing at the East Coast level by age 9.  The sport of swimming has provided me with so many wonderful opportunities and great role models over the years, for which I am truly thankful. Up until the age of 14, I was a dual athlete , dividing my time between Tier 1 soccer and swimming. I have also competed at the provincial level in X-country and track.  I have been a member of Swim Nova Scotia's Next Gen team for the past 3 years, and currently I am ranked number 1 in Nova Scotia for all of my primary events.  I am very excited that I have reached my goal of qualifying for the Canadian Olympic Trials, set for Toronto, in the Spring of 2020.

I aspire to be part of a competitive and supportive college swim team where I would be challenged and motivated to reach new goals. I strive to be the best that I can be at everything I do, I am a highly focused and committed individual in both the pool and my studies. I would love the opportunity to continue training and competing, in the sport that I love, at the highest level possible for me after high school. I believe that my schedule with swimming, school, and other extra curricular activities is teaching how to manage my time, and is preparing me for the challenges that lie ahead in being a college student athlete.  I have maintained my Honors standing since the start of high school, and I am aiming to continue that until I graduate in 2020. I look forward to discussing my future with coaches, in order to find the right fit for me, the school, and the swim program that I ultimately attend.
