My collegiate goals are to make the USA national team at least once (most likely in the 100 backstroke), maintain at least a 3.5 GPA, to stay happy, and enjoy swimming. I am a very strong leader, but also great at listening to and working with others. My team has always been and will always be my family and I would like to get that out of a college team as well. I love helping others. I am a coach for my summer team and I specialize with the disabled kids. I am very involved with my community. I have been a member of AC4P (actively caring for people) for three years now and I am an At-large athlete representative on the Lake Erie USA Swimming Board. I have attended two United States National Aquatics Conventions, as well as the 2018 YMCA national select leadership camp. I am a very dedicated student. In my sophomore year of high school, I maintained a 4.0 GPA and I took every honors and advanced class allowed. As of my junior year, I am taking 5 Ap classes (including Ap BC calculus) and I am a lab assistant for our three chemistry teachers. I am very dedicated to swimming. This past spring (2018) will mark my 11th year with this sport. I love being in and around the water. Training gives me purpose and I could not imagine life without it. I am a very loyal person. I have been on the same team for 10 years which has paid off because I have a long relationship built on trust with my coaches and teammates. I am always pushing myself to be a better student, athlete, and person. I love challenges and I put passion into everything I do. This year I returned to YMCA Nationals for my second year. Last year I qualified in the 100 back and a relay. This year I competed in the 100 back, the medley relay, the 200 free relay, the 100 fly, and the 50 free. I swam these same events at the YMCA National long-course meet over the summer (2018). As a sophomore, I competed at the Ohio division one state meet. Making it to this meet what so special to me because I was part of a states breakthrough for my team (this was our first time making it) and I became the youngest swimmer on our team to make it to states in an individual event. I placed 3rd at our district meet in the 100 back (swimming my best of a 57.93 scy) and I placed 18th at the state meet (swimming a 57.94 scy). I also was part of two qualifying relays. My goals for my junior year are to make top 16 at states in the 100 back and qualify another individual event to states. My goal times for this season (2018-2019 scy) are 56.2 in the 100 back, 23.5 in the 50 free, 1:54.50 in the 200 free, 2:13.50 in the 200 IM, 57.50 in the 100 fly, 52.50 in the 100 free, and 26.8 in the 50 back (relay). I love this sport and I work diligently to improve. I am not prone to injury *knock on wood* and I work hard to keep my body healthy.
