Kate Overbey 100m...Personal Statement
Since I was 4 years old and I swam the 25 freestyle on my summer club team, the pool has always been my home. Both my older siblings swam and I fell in love with the long days and hard practices. Through swimming I have learned that I can be a leader, both in and out of the pool. I have learned dedication to achieve greatness, humility in victory, and optimism in defeat.
Being an honor student and a high level athlete, I am searching for a program that can give me both the athletic training to reach the top levels of swimming, as well as top-tier academics. I believe that a team is stronger than individual talents. Lastly, I believe that I possess the character, commitment, and consideration for others to be a valuable member of your team.
