Personal Statement

Goals: I would like to swim competitively in college because I love to compete. Eventually, I would like to major in History, Education or Political Science.

Good Candidate: I believe I am a good candidate because I have excellent work ethic and a great passion for the sport of swimming.  I strive to apply myself in and outside of the pool. I am actively involved in student leadership organizations, sports and extra curricular activities. My faith is also important to me.

Different from Other Recruits: I believe that I am different from other recruits because swimming is part of my DNA. I love swimming and credit it with giving me a lot of self discipline and structure in my life.  I am passionate about the challenge swimming offers- be it racing, sprint, distance  test or drill sets, performing challenging dry land tasks etc. Moreover, I love the comradere, spirit, laughs and friendships that being part of a team brings. Having a team to support me in reaching my goals and visa versa is an awesome feeling.

Character: I believe that my faith gives me a different perspective than some of my peers. It provides me an added incentive to make good decisions and strengthens my resolve to develop as an individual and to grow deeper in my faith life.

Athletics: Up until age 10,  I played basketball, football, dance, soccer, piano, swimming etc. Dryland, sprint and technique based drills are my favorite athletic activities. I have chosen to focus on swimming because I believe I have the best aptitude for and love of this sport.

Academics: I am a hard working and diligent student with a history of earning good grades. Academic success is also important to me and my long term career goals. I strive to work hard in and out of the pool. Living a life of balance is something I strive for.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
