Maddie Davidson '27 Recruiting Profile

Growing up my parents encouraged me to  try a variety of sports. I love being active and trying new things, but I found what I love most when I joined my local YMCA swim team at 8 years old. Swimming has become one of my greatest passions and the personal growth I have experienced through the sport is why I am who I am today. I have learned the value of leadership, being a good teammate, accountability, and perseverance. I have experienced the highest of highs and the lowest of lows and learned how to navigate through them to come out stronger. 

I overcame a serious injury that sidelined me for a few months back in the spring of 2023. I wasn’t sure I would be able to swim the way I did before before the injury, but I put in the work and I came back even stronger and faster. This experience helped me grow personally and as an athlete. I am proof that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. 

The discipline that I have in my swimming is also present in my personal and academic life. I am an all honors student with straight A’s. I also participate in a variety of clubs and activities at my school.

I hope to have the opportunity to continue my passion for swimming as I eventually move into college and am grateful for the opportunity to learn from coaches about their amazing programs.
