NB 200 Free Relay...Personal Statement
My name is Katie Fleming and I will be graduating with the class of 2022. I
have been competitively swimming for 7 years and this will be my 5th year swimming with the Auglaize Mercer Family YMCA (AMFY) club team. I started swimming competitively with our town summer swim club when I was 9 years old. When I entered 7th grade, I joined the AMFY club team where I began to get much more serious about the sport. The AMFY club team has recently participated in USA swim meets. Now, I balance my schedule with both our high school swim team and the AMFY club team, in addition to other activities I take part in.
Some other activities I take part in include dancing for 12 years, playing in our high school’s marching, concert, and pep band, and participating in various clubs at our high school. In February 2020, along with 4 other teammates, I qualified for the OHSAA State Swim meet. I was proud to be apart of the first swimmers from our school to qualify.
I’m excited to see what my next step is for my swim career!
