My name is Abbey Kutchel. I will be entering my senior year at Strongsville High School. I started swimming when I was 5 years old for my summer swim league program. I immediately fell in love with the sport. When I was 7, I joined Swim United. Club swimming opened my eyes to what swimming was all about. I am still a member of Swim United and a three-time captain. I am a three-time letter winner for Strongsville High School, and a theee-time OHSAA District Qualifier in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke. I continue to work hard in the water and in the classroom. As a freshman, sophomore, and junior I earned the academic excellence athletic award at my school. As a Junior, I currently have a 3.9 GPA (Honors and College Courses), am a member of the Lake Erie Swimming Athletes Representative Program, and serve on the Lake Erie Swimming Service and Special Olympics Committee. I was named all Greater Cleveland Conference in 2022 and Honorable Mention in 2021. College swimming has always been a big dream of mine. Swimming in college will help me stay focussed on my academics and continue to motivate me to reach my goals. I am kind, extremely outgoing, and a hard worker. I get along with every person I meet in and out of the pool. I love a great team atmosphere and people who I can call my closest friends. I am looking forward to continuing my career in swimming and I am excited for the college recruiting process.
