My name is Hannah Koopmans and I live in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. I have been competitively swimming since I was 8 years old. I love the water and being surrounded in that environment. My mother was a competitive swimmer with the Barrie Trojans and was also a breaststroker. She had set many Club Records and I broke one of her records when I was 10 years old. She had held that record for 24 years. Along with that record, I broke two more breaststroke records.
I am a very motivated individual with excellent work ethic. I am responsible, friendly and like to have fun. I received the Team Leadership Award for the 2018-2019 Swim Season from the Barrie Trojan Swim Club. Along with training 11 times a week, I am also motivated academically. I received Honour Roll as a Freshman and will be receiving Honour Roll again as a Sophomore. On top of swimming and studying, I also volunteer at my Church every month, have completed my First Aid, Bronze Cross, Bronze Medallion, NLS (lifeguarding course) as well as participating in other school sports. I am looking forward to majoring in Education. My future career goal is to be a High School Teacher. I love working with children and helping them achieve their goals.
I feel that I will be a great asset to a swim team as I work hard to reach my goals, I have a passion for swimming and I strive to improve in all aspects of swimming and school. I am very coachable and take feedback very well. I look forward to the opportunity of contributing my skills and learning from my coach and teammates!
