I am a four time varsity swimmer on my high school’s swim team. I am also proud to say that I have been able to take my team to state twice, and participate in our best event, which is the 200 relay. I love swimming because I get to not only exercise but I get to relax my mind. As a senior in high school with the pressures of grades and preparation, it's nice to get in the pool and focus on the water.
My drive is one of my best qualities. When my heart is set on something, I go after it with all my might and if something discourages me, I plan ways to overcome it. I organize logical and strategic ways I can move around the dilemma, so that I can not only fix the problem in particular but avoid making the same mistake again.
In my freetime when I’m not taking care of the kids in the afterschool program at Englewood elementary or swimming for my High School swim team, I like to create art. My main medium is graphite and ink, and while I pursue my dream career I would like to return back to school and get a tattooing license.I love drawing and expressing myself through my pen and paper. Sometimes when I’m really stressed out, the best thing for me to do in order to de-stress is to get it all out in my art. It’s also important to me that people see the messages behind my art, every line the pencil makes is intended and planned. When people read the meaning behind my drawings, it fills me with pride.
I wish to never stop learning, it makes me feel good when I learn and find out things that are new to me, getting that ‘ah-ha’ moment is so rewarding and it just drives you to want to learn more. I couldn’t imagine a world where I wasn’t able to learn new things, what a bland and boring life that would be. Learning brings color and fascination, there are so many things out there in the world that I could learn, so many things that I can expand my mind on that I couldn’t even fathom.
It's a bit difficult to describe yourself and your life story in just a few paragraphs, but I hope these words and letters painted a picture into who I am as a person and as a student. I hope that this description will help lead me to college and help me get the education I strive for, and with this I promise to never stop learning, no matter what the obstacle at the time is.
