Swimming has been an extremely influential part of my life since I was two. My mom told me that when I finished my swim lessons program, I did not want to stop, so she put me on a swim team when I was six. I absolutely loved it and I was able to break 5 records, including three relays and two individual events, (two records still stand), before I moved onto high school. I was also a part of a relay that won YMCA states in 2015. All of those years of swimming made me want to swim at the collegiate level, but what really pushed me to strive to swim in college was my high school coaches, especially my head coach, Todd Eisenhofer. They all motivate and encourage me to be not only the best swimmer I can be, but the best possible person and teammate I can be. They have taught me to cheer on and be supportive of my other teammates even when I did not have my best race and to have fun no matter the circumstances. In college, I plan to continue to work hard and become a better swimmer while immersed in a tight-knit swim family and team activities. I have always prided myself in having an extremely strong work ethic with a desire to perform at a high level.
In addition to my desire to swim at the collegiate level, I am looking for a school where I can achieve my academic goals and aspirations. I am currently taking all Accelerated and AP classes, while maintaining a 4.0 GPA and my rank in the top 3% of my class. I plan to major in biology, focusing on pre-veterinary medicine, zoology, or marine biology. On top of school and swimming, I also run cross country, which I am the team captain and MVP award recipient for two straight years. I also run track and have taken dance classes since I was six. I am also a part of many school clubs, including student council, FBLA, class treasurer, and Sustainable Students, which I helped co-create my junior year and was appointed treasurer. Even though academics is a big part of my life, I am also looking for an interactive and close community between students and a college where there is always something to do in my free time. I am excited to communicate and meet with coaches in the near future and find the college that is right for me.
