Emelia Erikson '25 Recruiting Profile

       Hi! My name's Emelia (Emmy) Erikson, I'm 17 years old and live in Horsham Pennsylvania. I currently Attend Hatboro Horsham Senior High school and I’m a Junior. I learned how to swim when I was very young, however I joined my first swim team much later at the age of 12. I immediately fell in love with the sport and I haven't wanted to leave the water since. I swim for my club team year round (Upper Dublin Aquatic Club, on the USA team) and I also swim for my high school team (the Hatboro Horsham Hatters).  I would say my best quality is my hard work and determination. Every practice I do my best to work my hardest and encourage my teammates to do the same. I plan on swimming in college, I honestly can't see my future without swimming. Some of my goals for swimming mainly revolve around maintaining my hard work ethic and watching it pay off. This High school season my goal is to have my individual races final at states. I am very proud and honored to say that a few of my teammates and I went on to swim at the PIAA state championships and won my freshman year and got second last year!! It was absolutely amazing to see all of our hard work pay off. This year at states I am swimming the 200 freestyle and the 100 freestyle along with the 200 and 400 freestyle relay (the relays my team and I have won the last 2 years in both!!). 

Aside from swimming I am also very passionate about my education. I have a 4.0 GPA and take all Honors and AP classes. Although I work hard in all subjects I am mostly interested in sciences and mathematics. I plan on having a future in the medical field but that's not decided yet. Besides swimming I also enjoy running, biking, working out, reading, and hanging out with my friends.
