Throughout college my main goal is to develop my character. Since I was young, I wanted to pursue a career that made a difference for peoples' daily lives. Although I am undecided, I believe that there is a career out there to support my creativity and my passion of giving. I have been involved in competitive sports since I was four. During my time playing softball, soccer, lacrosse, gymnastics, and competing in water polo and swimming, I have noticed that many kids rely on their coaches' motivation, toughness, and high expectations in order to improve. I have always been my toughest coach. I have high expectations for myself and even push myself to train on my own on top of team hours. Please don’t misinterpret this, my coaches have guided and helped me get to where I am today. However, I have learned to not get defeated when I don’t meet my expectations, and instead shake it off and use it as fuel to work even harder. The team that I am surrounded by is the most important to me. I am always trying to find creative ways for our team to bond. I bring ideas to the group, but step down once the ball begins to roll to make the discussion a team effort. I believe that with the right team, coaches, and school I will be able to develop my character and succeed in the future.
