Personal Statement

I will be entering my senior year at Cheltenham High School, and my fourth season on the varsity swim team. I’ve maintained a 4.0 GPA (unweighted) through high school, taking mainly Honors and AP courses. In addition to swimming, I participate in several clubs and extracurricular activities, including the Cheltenham High School Select Chamber Orchestra (in which I play cello), National Honor Society, and Women in Science and Engineering.

My goal is to attend an academically challenging college or university with a strong neuroscience program, to ultimately go for a career in clinical medicine or biomedical research. In swimming I've always been a hard worker and team player, and through college swimming I aim to make a strong contribution to the team while achieving my academic and athletic goals.
