I am from Matamoros, a small town in the state of Tamaulipas in Mexico. I have been in swimming there since I was 4 years old. Since then I dedicate my life to it. I began to compete on state level at my 10 years old and qualify 5 times for National championships Class B in Mexico from 13 to 15 years old. When COVID hit and swimming in Mexico stopped completely, I moved to the US looking for better life and better opportunities in sports. Even though was hard adapting to a new school and sports system, perseverance and persistence made me who I become know. My first year of school I was unable to be in the varsity team because of my school zone. This became a challenge to confront a whole year, but when my senior season started, times dropped until I got my qualification to state just on my first season. Two years from now, reaching my goals and making my parents proud of who I am now made me a better student-athlete.
