As I'm sure everyone has heard someone say at least once: this year has been crazy. Nevertheless, I still managed to improve despite the circumstances, which I feel means something, and it wasn't just this year. My freshman year 500 freestyle time averaged about an 8:36.00 but- thanks to my awesome coaches, amazing teammates, and supportive family members- I have been able to advance far beyond what I used to be. Yesterday, I swam a 500 freestyle at 6:40.02 - something that would have seemed impossible to me in the beginning. I haven't given up, and I never will. With each passing year, I have set strong goals and have surpassed even my own expectations. My motivation is this: I love it. I love to swim, probably more than I love doing anything else. And I truly believe that I will be able to continue to improve even more, and hopefully continue to meet people who love swimming just as much as I do.
