After swimming for around 5 years, it's easy for me to say that swimming is one of the most important things in my life. I began with the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation(TAAF), then worked my way up to USA Swimming with Metroplex Texoma. When I reached high school, I knew that swimming had already had a huge impact on my life and I joined my school's UIL swim team. I love swimming and I very strongly desire to continue my swimming career at the collegiate level. Competitive swimming has acted as a sort of escape for me in the past, providing me with an outlet to expel excess energy and emotions while also allowing me to befriend my teammates and enjoy some healthy competition.
As a swimmer, I consider myself very well-rounded. My first year of UIL swimming, I swam a lot of 200 IM, so I have experience in every stroke. My Junior year was filled with 500 Free, so I have a lot of recent training in distance events (including the mile). Primarily, I swim the 100 Fly and I have since I was a Freshman. I've made a load of improvements and I consider myself good at listening to instructions and implementing any suggestions my coaches make to me. I care about swimming and improvement is what I strive for at every practice.
As far as what divisions and schools I'm open to, I'd say pretty much anything goes. As long as I get to swim in college, I'm not too picky in division level or even school locations. I know I want to major in Computer Science, and I'm interested in the possibility of double majoring into English as well. I'd prefer to stick to the 100 Fly event in college, but I'm also open to swim whatever event my future coach needs me to swim.
