Katelyn Shackelford '13 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5' 9" junior from Southlake, Texas. I have been swimming for 9 years on a silver medalist club (North Texas Nadadores). I also swim varsity (3rd year) for Carroll Senior High School. Last year we finished second place for the State 5A division. My freshman year I was on the All-District team for the 200 IM. I made the All-District and All-Region team my sophomore year in the 500 FR.

My strongest strokes are the backstroke and the mid-to-long distance freestyle. My fly and breast strokes are solid which allows me to excel in the IM events as well (400 IM being my strongest).

I have received our teams "Hardest Worker Award" and "The Coaches Award" in the past which demonstrates my commitment to swimming.  I am equally commited to the classroom where I am taking several AP courses. My current GPA is 93.

My collegiate goals are to attend a college where I can have an impact on the team through competition, leadership and hardwork as well as obtaining a solid education for my future.
