My name is Lilly K. Pifer and I am a Junior at Randolph High School on Randolph Air Force Base, San Antonio, TX. I am a very dedicated and hardworking student-athlete who maintains a 4.0 GPA, and who is also striving to be a collegiate swimmer after high school.
In addition to swimming, I have also earned my Varsity letter in both volleyball and softball and ran track for the past 2 years. I am actively engaged in both the choir and library/book clubs for my High School and also I am in the Future Problem Solvers of America club who went to the 2022 State Competition. I am involved with my schools AFJROTC Detachment and have earned the rank of Cadet 2nd Lieutenant and have Flight Commander leadership responsibility this year. In addition to that job, I have also competed in both the AFJROTC archery & marksmanship groups.
In school I love all my classes, but especially Physics & History. In 2022 I was inducted into the National Honor Society and in 2023 I was also inducted into the National Spanish Honor Society. As it pertains to college, I am still undetermined and deciding what advanced academic studies I want to pursue after High school.
Currently I am a year-round swimmer on the Schertz YMCA Storm swim team. In 2021 I earned my High School Varsity letter, the 1st year on the swim team. In 2023, and with a Conference change, I swam the 500 free & 200 free in the High School 4A Championship season. I was our district champion in the 500 free and a finalist at the Regionals and State meets. In 2023 I was selected for 2023 All State 1st Team for the 500 Free and 200 Free, and All State 2nd Team for 200 IM, 200 Medley Relay, 400 Free Relay and Honorable mention for100 free and 200 free relay. In December 2018 I volunteered as an athlete helper and timer during the US Para-Olympic Swimming National Championship in Tucson, AZ, and appreciated the opportunity to help all the competitors. My favorite stroke is the Freestyle stroke, but I also enjoy doing the individual medley where I can utilize all the strokes. The long races require a lot of discipline, and medley requires focus. The discipline and focus it takes to succeed in each of those events helps instill organization into my personal life which helps me successfully balance all my academic studies and daily activities.
My father served 28+ years in the US Air Force and I enjoyed the unique aspects of growing up and being a military dependent. As such I have developed a resiliency and adaptability for changing houses, meeting new people, starting on new swim teams and helping my family while my dad was out on his deployments. I started swimming when I was three and since then I have lived in 6 states as well as overseas in Okinawa; and since age eight I have been on four club teams in Georgia, Arizona and now Texas.
I am still undecided about my interests after high school but until then academics, swimming, volleyball, track, choir and AFJROTC will remain important parts of my life.
