I would like to swim in college because one of my main passions in life is swimming. I have been swimming since i was very young and competitively since I was 5 or 6. I have also done other sports like soccer and field hockey, they did not click with me like swimming does. I love the feel of the workout in practice, and the fun and rush of swimming in meets. The sense of community in all the teams I have been on is one of my favorite parts of swimming. Over the years my interest and love for swimming has grown, it started as just a sport but as I got older I slowly got more competitive and m passion for swimming grew.
I believe that my coaches would describe me as ambitious towards swimming and being positive for races. I look forward to practices because I know it will ultimately make me better. When i'm in practice and and a coach makes a comment of stroke, I am eager to improve and make conscious efforts to improve during practice. In meets i like to hear my coaches feed back and advise on my races in order to learn form them and further improve. Because of this i believe that my coaches would also describe me as eager to learn and improve my stroke and swimming in general.
My goals for swimming are not set in stone and though I have a few minor ones. I'm still deciding how far I want to go in my swimming career. For high school swimming I plan on dropping more time and hopefully making it further in the districts and maybe making regionals next year. For a longer term goal I would like to continue to drop time especially in butterfly but also all my strokes for IM. Another goal is to make it to States for high school swimming in the next 3 years. Finally my longest term goal is to swim in college and study engineering, combining all I enjoy! I know I will be a great member of your team and look forward to exploring more over the years!
