Anna Whelan '21 Recruiting Profile

I have been swimming for over 11 years and have dreamed of swimming in college and beyond since I was young. I have dedicated myself fully to the sport of swimming as well as my academics for as long as I can remember. I am determined to achieve my goals in life and will let nothing stop me from trying my hardest to reach them. I am incredibly competitive, and I see that trait as a way to not only better myself but help my teammates as well, as I know that I personally benefit from competition, as I am sure my teammates do as well. Throughout my swimming career, few things (apart from illness or injury) have been able to stop me from going to practice every day and training my hardest. Furthermore, it is these challenges that I have faced throughout my athletic and academic careers that have shaped me into the best version of myself yet, and I hope to continue to be a positive influence on both myself and others where ever my career takes me.
