I am a varsity freestyle swimmer who wishes to swim at the collegiate level. I love my sport, and I really enjoy how swimming connects me to my friends and provides a way for me to stay active. This love for the sport and motivation to do my best has resulted in my status as a varsity MVP. My motivation does not solely exist in the pool either. In the classroom, it has resulted in my continual academic excellence, and I aspire to attend an academically selective school. I believe I am capable of being both a competitive swimmer and a successful student at a school such as this, as I have had many years of experience balancing my challenging academics with my athletics and other extracurriculars.
Some specific highlights from my swimming career are placing 11th in the 100 Free State Final as a Sophomore after qualifying in 16th place, and tying for 2nd place in the 100 Free at the District Championships. However, one of my biggest achievements is likely conquering my self-doubt and becoming more confident, allowing me to more freely compete at a higher level and actually enjoy the sport.
I look forward to connecting with possible coaches and continuing my swimming and academic careers!
