I have been swimming for 10 years and this sport has taught me many life lessons including the value of hard work. Swimming has been a huge part of my life since I was 6 years old and my cousin was the coach for my summer swim team. I’ve had to overcome many obstacles to get to where I am in the world of swimming today, but , through the hard times I realize how big my love for the sport actually is. When I broke my wrist after having one of the best seasons of my life and couldn’t swim for three months, I was devastated. But, through that experience I learned how much I truly love to swim, and I knew that I had to work twice as hard to get back to where I was before.
My values that I have learned from swimming carry over into the classroom setting as I take education very seriously and will continue that through college. Through swimming I have learned that I am competitive, a team player, and diligent. My goals for college include getting a great education while training hard and reaching my goals in the sport that I love. I feel that because of my values and my true passion for the sport, I am capable of competing at a college level.
