Talia Nettesheim '24 Recruiting Profile

I fell in love with swimming when I was 6 years old after taking a try the swim team class and I never looked back. I have been swimming with Waukesha Express for the last 10 years and have been on the Waukesha South/Mukwonago HS team for the last 3 years. 

I enjoy the process of swimming, no matter how difficult it can get. Training is very important to me. I like to be pushed at practice and enjoy working hard. Some of my favorite events to swim are the 500 free, 200 free, 1000 free, 100 fly, 200 fly, & 400 IM. At the WIAA D1 state meet November 2022 I placed 9th in the 500 free, was on the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay. Team culture is very important me. I want to be part of a team that works together, cheers for each other and excels in and out of the pool. Character is important to me.

Outside of swim I am part of the highest orchestra at my school (audition only), where I play the viola. I currently hold a 3.975 GPA (unweighted) taking advance classes all 3 years. I am also the president of my church youth group, and take morning religion classes before school. I strive for excellence in all I do. I plan to major in Information technology and I’m looking for a school with high academic standards and a good program and swim team.
